Turbo Tags & Titles started in Fairbanks with a simple thesis: the DMV doesn't have to feel like the DMV. As a state-certified private partner of the Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles, we deliver the same official services — issued the same day, with the warmth and speed of a great local shop.
Meet the founder
Patrick Tanner — a Fairbanks dad who decided the DMV could be better.
During COVID in 2020, the Alaska DMV moved to appointment-only and Patrick kept hearing the same thing from friends and co-workers: people were waiting weeks for a slot and burning a whole day to get there. He started digging into Alaska's DMV landscape, and that curiosity turned into a partnership with the State of Alaska DMV to give locals a real alternative.
Turbo Tags & Titles opened in Fairbanks on February 18, 2021 — with a line out the door. What set the company apart was a stubborn focus on making DMV transactions simpler, faster, and far less stressful: clear guidance, personalized help, and a team that actually wants you to leave happy.
Today you'll still find Patrick behind the counter on busy mornings, training new staff, or out in the parking lot running a road test. He's a dad first, an operator second, and a stickler for getting the paperwork right the first time.

Behind the counter is a tight-knit Fairbanks crew — title specialists, road test examiners, and front-desk pros who all live and shop in the same neighborhoods as the customers they serve. Many of our regulars are on a first-name basis with us, and that's exactly how we like it.
Every team member is Alaska DMV-certified and trained on the same hospitality standard Patrick set on day one: greet warmly, explain clearly, double-check the paperwork, and get you back to your day.
